I have got a diverse background covering Automation Engineering (Politecnico di Bari), Law and Economics (Università di L'Aquila). My skills range from programming and 3D printing to on-the-field experience in crime-related data analysis and intelligence activities.
My research interests are focused on computer vision, particularly 3D scanning systems.
The purpose of my current activity is to build a prototype of a end-effector to automatically inspect the aircraft exterior without contact. The prototype will be mounted on a drone and will be able to automatically detect 3D shape anomalies, while operating at safe distance from the aircraft surface.
The aim is to build an accurate and reliable system that would reduce human workload and safety risk, while cutting aircraft downtime and thus costs.
