Ms Olivia Berzal de Frutos holds a Bachelor degree on Environmental Science by the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain) between 2009 and 2014 and a Master joint degree on Water Technology by Wageningen University & Research, University of Twente and University of Groningen (The Netherlands) between 2014 and 2016. Past experiences include an Erasmus internship on "Copper Recovery with Bioelectrochemical Systems", and a MSc thesis on "Study of Membrane Fouling in Produced Water Treatment" at Wetsus European Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology.
Ms Olivia Berzal de Frutos joined Cranfield University Water Science Institute as PhD Researcher on October 2016. Her work is focused on "Maximising the Value of Trade Wastes". The impact of co-digesting trade wastes and sludge is being studied at lab scale.
Currently, Ms Olivia Berzal de Frutos is also involved in the "Cranfield Doctoral Community (CDC) of Water", and in the "Early Career Women in Water 2020 Conference".
