Background
After graduating from UMIST with an MEng in Aerospace Engineering, Mehdi completed an MPhil in Materials at the University of Manchester faculty of engineering and physical sciences. Since joining Cranfield University, Mehdi has worked on over 10 UK and international collaborative projects with research focused on processing and characterisation of composite materials.

- Through thickness reinforcement of composites: Tufting, z-pinning, bindered reinforcements
- Matrix characterisation: Rheology, DSC/MDSC, TMA, DMA, TGA
- Reinforcement characterisation: fibre/tow pull-out, dry fabric shear
- Mechanical, thermal and electrical characterisation of composite materials
