Background
Marieme has a BSc in Agroforestry and MSc in Development and Sustainable Management of Forest and Agroforestry Ecosystems from the University Assane Seck of Ziguinchor (Senegal), and an MSc in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences from Virginia Tech (USA). She worked in the National Forest Research Center in Senegal as a research assistant.
Current activities
She is currently working on a PhD entitled ‘Novel fertilizer formulations for improved nitrogen use efficiency in African agriculture’ under the Rothamsted-Cranfield-UM6P Partnership, with principal supervisors Prof Tom Misselbrook (Rothamsted) and Prof Guy Kirk (Cranfield). She is based at Rothamsted’s North Wyke campus in Devon.
