Background
Mandy has worked for Cranfield University Library Service since 2004 and is a Research Support Librarian supporting researchers and research students in the Faculties of Engineering & Applied Science and Business & Management.
She teaches a range of information literacy, research and study skills, as well as guiding researchers to critique and navigate the resources they need to find information. She provides advice on the REF and funder compliance, open access, where to publish, and plays a key role in advocating the use of and depositing content to the CRIS system.
She organises internal and external events that contribute to the development of the Cranfield research culture.
Current activities
She co-organises events such as the Defence and Security Doctoral Symposium (DSDS), the Research Support Networking Event and provides additional sessions through the CDS Doctoral Community.
Mandy sits on various project groups that develop research support and study skills, including LITR (Library, IT and the Research and Innovation Office), Lunch and Learn Working Group, the Systematic Literature Review Working Group, the EDIA Working Group, and the AI Lunch and Learn Working Group.
She is Chair of the external DARTS (Discovering Academic Research Training and Support) committee, through which she co-organises the biennial DARTS conference.
