Contact Kieran Wiseman

Background

Kieran graduated from the University of Surrey in 2017 with a Masters in Physics, following a year's research placement. Following this Kieran came to Cranfield as a full-time PhD student, which he officially completed in April 2022. Kieran is now working as a Research Fellow in the Centre for Engineering Photonics as part of the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing.

Since starting at Cranfield he has presented work at SPIE Optical Metrology (2019) in Munich, delivered a session keynote virtually for euspen's 20th International Conference and presented virtually at Photon 2020, with further conferences planned.

Current activities

Kieran is currently researching novel techniques for wavelength stabilisation of widely modulated lasers, with applications in dimensional metrology. In addition, Kieran is researching applications for a novel interferometric measurement technique developed at Cranfield. Kieran's most recent work was published in Optics and Lasers in Engineering, referenced below.
