Kavindi is a MSc by Research student in Environment and Agrifood working under the supervision of Dr Monica Rivas Casado and Dr Yadira Bajon Fernandez. She obtained her Bacherlor’s Degree in Engineering Physics in University of Colombo Sri Lanka in 2021. In her final year research project she developed a sensor based embedded system to measure, transmit real-time data of gas air pollutants and analyse the same using statistical techniques.
She is currently working in a project on Development of a Drone Monitoring Framework for the robust quantification of greenhouse gases emitted from sludge treatment centres.
The aim of the project is to gain an understanding on emission estimates of methane from sludge treatment centres and to develop a monitoring framework for the centre making use of in-house (Severn Trent Water) UAV capability.
Her MSc research project is sponsored by Severn Trent Water.
