Background
Mr Julen Mendizabal holds a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (Spain) and a Masters Degree in Water and Wastewater Engineering from Cranfield University (UK) obtained in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Past experiences include an internship at CEIT-IK4 (Spain) where he worked as a research assistant on "Development of technologies for removal of nitrogen-phosphorus and degassing on recirculating fish farms" (Apr 2016 - Jun 2016). He also did his MSc thesis about the "Rehabilitation of a faecal sludge treatment facility in Port-Au-Prince (Haiti)" (May 2017 - Sep 2017), including a two-month placement at a local civil engineering consultancy.
Current activities
Mr Julen Mendizabal joined Cranfield University Water Science Institute as an EngD Research Engineer in September 2017. His work is focused on "Understanding the impacts of septicity on wastewater treatment". The project is sponsored by Thames Water and is undertaken as part of the STREAM Industrial Doctorate Centre.
