Background
John-Joseph completed a BSc(hons) in Civil Engineering from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2014 before starting a career as a Consultant for a software developer producing Structural Engineering software. Whilst working for that company, he was sponsored to complete an MSc in Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics, which involved completing a research project in Blast wave interactions with flanged structural steel sections. After returning to work for the completion of his contract, John-Joseph decided to pursue a PhD in Effect of Shockwaves on Metals in extreme environments.
Current activities
John-Joseph is carrying out his PhD research with Cranfield Defence and Security. His PhD will focus on the effect of multiple impact loads on polycrystaline metals and the early stages of spall within the microstructure caused by shock loading on the samples.
