Contact James McGovern


James studied a BSc in Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated in 2014 with a first class honours degree. In 2016, he completed his MSc degree in Forensic Investigations from Cranfield University with his thesis focused on the transfer of blood stains at crime scenes. James is now studying for his PhD at Cranfield University, which is focussed on x-ray diffraction and material science.

Current activities

As part of the Cranfield Forensic Institute, James' focus for his research is based around a novel geometry for x-ray diffraction. known as Focal Construct Geometry (FCG).
