Background

Fazril Irfan holds a Master's degree in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from the University of Salford, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Materials and Petroleum) from the University Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia. With over 10 years of experience in academics and the professional field, he has worked with various oil and gas companies in maintenance, reliability, and safety. He has been involved in a range of project design phases, including conceptual design (CD), front-end engineering design (FEED), and detailed design (DD). His expertise includes conducting reliability, availability, and maintainability studies (RAM), managing safety-critical elements and setting performance standards (SCE-PS), acoustic-induced vibration (AIV) analysis, developing maintenance manuals, including inspection scopes and frequencies, establishing a High-Level Sparing philosophy, Consequence Analysis, CIMAH Assessment, Safety Management Systems, maintenance aspects of repair work, Job Unit Notes, Engineering Packages, and maintenance documentation, along with the preparation of relevant reports for various clients. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council UK, and also a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers UK.

Current activities

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Manufacturing at the Centre for Digital and Engineering Manufacturing (CDEM) with a focus on Prognostics and Health Management (PHM).
