Background
Haroun completed his BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, with a focus on Aircraft Stability & Propulsion. He worked right after as a research assistant in Composite Materials. Moving thereon to Cranfield University for an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design with a concentration in Avionics Systems Design, he worked on Landing Gear fatigue prediction via ML modelling and FE software, later pursuing a PhD in Transport Systems, seeking the continuation of his MSc Thesis and integrating it with a neural network approach & SHM application.
Current activities
Haroun El Mir is a PhD candidate at Cranfield University's Transport Systems IVHM department, specializing in Landing Gear SHM monitoring Certification.
