Contact Hannah Nicola Grace Ritchie
Areas of expertise
- Water Science and Engineering
Background
Hannah completed B.Sc in Applied Geology at the University of Exeter in 2018, after which she worked for one year as an Environmental Geologist. Hannah than began her PhD in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) at Cranfield University in 2019.
Current activities
Hannah is interested in water security in dryland settings and in prioritising local knowledges and water harvesting techniques. Her PhD is focussed on sand dams, researching their interaction with the sub-surface environment and how they impact local water availability. Hannah hopes that her research will support water providers in making more informed decisions about water management techniques and will lead to sand dams being more appropriately utilised to meet the growing concern of water security in dryland settings.
