BackgroundGary obtained his BSc in Materials Science, Engineering and Design from the Open University in 1997 and his Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching Assessment in Higher Education from Cranfield University in 2008.
Gary is manager of the University's large Cobalt 60 dry panoramic irradiator, a high dose-rate gamma irradiation facility for use by academia, industry and defence.
His recent work includes radiation effects on: fibre optics; electronic components; biological tracers; medical devices and components.
