Background
Ermonel Budo is a Research Assistant in Propulsion System Simulation within the Centre for Aeronautics, Propulsion and Power at Cranfield University, based at the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre in Aero Systems Design, Integration and Performance. His research focuses on the modelling and performance analysis of conventional and next-generation gas turbine configurations and advanced propulsion systems. His work supports the development of simulation frameworks for future aero-engine architectures, alongside the advancement and validation of numerical methods for predicting dynamic engine response at both component and system levels under fast transients and extreme off-design conditions.
Research opportunities
Ermonel's research interests focus on the following areas:
– Multi-fidelity propulsion system modelling
– Aero-engine performance assessment
– Off-design and extreme-condition engine behaviour
– Development of steady-state and transient numerical methods
– Multi-disciplinary optimisation of propulsion systems
– Future aircraft propulsion concepts
– Hydrogen integration in gas turbine architectures
