Background
Elsa graduated from the University of Warwick with a Masters degree in Sustainable Crop Production in 2021. Following this, she joined the agricultural consultancy firm ADAS as a Climate and Sustainability Consultant. Her role involved working on a variety of projects related to improving agricultural sustainability and reducing the climate impact of global food systems.
Current activities
Elsa is now a PhD candidate at Cranfield University, supervised by Paul Burgess and Georgios Pexas. The title of her project is Life Cycle Assessment of Trees Outside Woodlands, which includes agroforestry systems, orchards, shelterbelts, and Miyawaki forests. Her research will focus on developing a life cycle assessment framework that will enable the quantification of the environmental, economic, and social impacts of alternative tree planting methods across a range of landscapes. This work is in conjunction with Defra and Fera Science.
