Contact Dr Tharmalingam Sivarupan
Background
Dr Siva Sivarupan holds the title of Chartered Engineer (CEng) and is a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK). His research focuses primarily on areas such as 3D printing, alloy solidification, microstructure analysis, characterization of light alloys' mechanical properties, laser welding, and low-pressure sand casting.Siva has gained extensive experience in various analytical techniques including FIB/EBSD/SEM/XPS/EDX(S)/X-ray mapping/TEM, PIPS/PECS, and image analysis using software such as Image Pro Plus, AVIZO, and MATLAB. Additionally, he have proficiency in mechanical properties testing, LabView Signal Express, ThermoCalc, and simulation software like QuikCAST/ProCAST and FLOW 3D.
Dr Siva Sivarupan expertise extends to solidification and thermodynamic simulation using tools such as QuikCAST/ProCAST and FLOW 3D, as well as computer programming languages like Python and Java. He am skilled in modelling and simulation with software such as Autodesk Inventor, 3DS Catia, Siemens NX, and PTC Creo. Furthermore, he has practical experience in low-pressure sand casting, particularly with aluminium and magnesium alloys, and is involved in additive manufacturing/3D sand printing.
