Background

Dr Shoaib Sarfraz is a Research Fellow in Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Centre at Cranfield University. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, and a PhD in Manufacturing. At present, Shoaib is working on TransFIRe (Transforming Foundation Industries Research) project focusing on mapping resource use in UK foundation industries and transferring best practices in these industries; the aim is to enhance the resource use (energy, materials, water) and reduce the negative environmental impacts in line with Net Zero 2050 Agenda. Prior to joining TransFIRe, he has worked with Grundfos in Denmark on the project 'Ecodesign Tools for Data-Driven Sustainable Production of Circulation Pumps'.
