Background

Dr Shahid Ayub is a Lecturer in Communications and Networks Defense and Security at Cranfield University at Shrivenham. He has done his MSc in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology from Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. He has done his PhD in Communication Systems from Lancaster University.

Dr Ayub has over ten years of multi-disciplinary research experience in RF broadband communication, wireless networking, artificial intelligence, sensor systems, security and privacy, and internet of things. He is actively involved in various research activities in past which include:

Datalink Communications Systems for Aerodrome Connectivity

Human Machine Interface for Autonomous Vehicles

Broadband communication system design, testing, analysis and applications

Wireless sensor systems data acquisition and statistical analysis,

mmWave technology prototype testing and characterization

AI algorithm design for Indoor/Outdoor localization and positioning systems using WiFi, 4G, GPS technologies

RF propagation and antenna design for high data rate Electromagnetic surface wave communication systems

Visible light communication system(VLC), Channel Modelling, testing, application development

Context- & User- Aware Wireless Networks

Dr Ayub has worked on a number of projects supported by industrial partners and research funding organization (Innovate UK, CDE, HMGCC and HORIZON 2020). He has developed excellent communication and problem-solving skills and expertise of writing research proposals, attending teleconferences and projects meetings, ability to manage and complete projects to the highest standard.
