Background
Riul received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2019. He subsequently undertook a PhD investigating the generation and propagation of tonal noise from contra-rotating rotor systems used in unmanned aerial vehicles. Following his doctoral studies, he held a Postdoctoral Researcher position on an industry-focused knowledge-transfer project between the University of Salford and Greenjets. He is now a Research Fellow in propulsion system design at the Rolls-Royce UTC within the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering at Cranfield University, where he is broadening his expertise to include the aerodynamics and performance analysis of modern propulsion systems.
