Background
Kacper obtained his Aerospace Engineering MEng in 2015, at the University of Sheffield, followed by a PhD degree in gas turbine advanced control and monitoring; completed in 2019 at Sheffield’s Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre in Control, Monitoring and Systems Engineering. His academic interests and contributions are in the field of guarantees for optimisation and model-based control laws in safety-critical control loops.
Current activities
Kacper is a Research Fellow in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing conducting industrial controls research into urban air-mobility (UAM) platforms, such as Rolls-Royce’s eVTOL concept and Aston Martin’s Volante. Electrification of existing airframe platforms is the guiding theme for his consultancy work for Project Fresson – the development of the UK’s first electrically propelled passenger-carrying airline.
