Background

Dennis is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Aeronautics. Before joining Cranfield, he worked at the University of Nottingham’s Rolls-Royce UTC in Gas Turbine Transmission Systems as a CFD Research Fellow.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from Tongji University Shanghai, Dennis undertook his joint PhD programme at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in collaboration with Tongji’s Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center, and received a dual-award PhD/EngD degree.

Dennis has engaged in multi-party research projects including the EU H2020-CS2 SilentProp project (DOI: 10.3030/882842) and the Innovate UK ONEheart project (Ref. 10003388). His research specialties are in aeroacoustics of aeronautical and propulsion systems, emphasizing computational aeroacoustics, multi-fidelity noise modelling, wind tunnel aeroacoustic testing, and noise reduction.

Dennis is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) with experience in delivering lectures, lab practices, and supervisions at UG and PG levels.

Dennis is now inviting applications for funded PhD studentships. Candidates with a strong background in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, and applied mathematics are strongly encouraged to get in touch to explore research opportunities.
