Background

Dennis is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Aeronautics. Before joining Cranfield, he worked at the University of Nottingham’s Rolls-Royce UTC in Gas Turbine Transmission Systems as a CFD Research Fellow.

Dennis received his bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from Tongji University Shanghai. He undertook his joint PhD programme at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in collaboration with Tongji’s Shanghai Automotive Wind Tunnel Center and received a dual-award PhD/EngD degree under the supervision of Prof. Zhigang Yang and Dr. Randolph Chi Kin Leung.

Dennis has engaged in multi-party research projects including the EU H2020-CS2 SilentProp project (DOI: 10.3030/882842) and the Innovate UK ONEheart project (Ref. 10003388). His research specialties are in flow-induced noise of aircraft and propulsion systems, emphasizing computational aeroacoustics, multi-fidelity noise modelling, wind tunnel aeroacoustic testing, and aeronautical noise reduction.

Dennis is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) with experience in delivering lectures, lab practices, and supervisions at UG and PG levels.
