Background

Dr Emma Hare is the Head of Research Excellence within Cranfield University's Research and Innovation Office. She leads the Research Excellence Team, which delivers the University's professional research support function including pre-award support and post award management, supports relationships with public sector funding agencies, manages the university's knowledge exchange support function and ensures the co-ordination of Cranfield's Research Excellence Framework 2021 submission.

Emma joined Cranfield University in July 2019 from Queen Mary University of London, where she held the post of Head of Research Strategy and Policy and Executive Officer to the Vice-Principal for Research (2014-2019). Prior to that, Emma held a number of successive roles overseeing the undergraduate, postgraduate and research services support functions within the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Queen Mary.

She holds a degree in Zoology and a PhD in Biological Sciences from Queen Mary University of London and worked as a researcher with the conservation organisations MammalsTrust UK and the European Squirrel Initiative prior to undertaking her PhD.
