Background

Christos Emmanouilidis (Dipl. Elec. Eng, MSc, PhD) is a Senior IEEE Member, a Founding Fellow of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM), a member of the IFIP WG5.7 'Advances in Production Management Systems' and is currently serving as Secretary of the IFIP TC5.1 WG A-MEST on Advanced Maintenance Engineering Services and Technologies. He is a Senior IEEE Member, a Founding Fellow of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM), member of the IFIP WG5.7 'Advances in Production Management Systems, Secretary of the IFAC TC 5.1 WG A-MEST on Advanced Maintenance Engineering Services and Technologies, and member of CEN's TC 319 standardization committee on Maintenance and has been a member of the EFNMS European Asset Management Committee (EAMC). He has been Research Director and Senior Researcher at ATHENA Research and Innovation Centre, Greece, a Visiting Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Politecnico di Milano and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Departments of Production and Management Engineering & Electrical & Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace. He has been involved for over 20 years in all aspects of RDI projects, including Principal Investigator or co-Investigator roles.

Research opportunities

I welcome enquires about PhD and MSc project opportunities in various areas of Industry 4.0 technologies and especially Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Machine Learning / AI, Context-Aware Computing, and Cyber-Physical Systems; application focus on Engineering Services, Product and Asset Lifecycle Management, Maintenance Management, Automation, and Technology - Enhanced Learning is particularly welcome in such projects. Other application areas involving the above enabling technologies could be of interest.

Current activities

Christos Emmanouilidis is a Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University, UK, on Internet of Things and Analytics, within the Through-Life Engineering Services Centre, in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing. research portfolio is in Applied Intelligent and Cyber-Physical Systems, including Human in the Loop of such systems, employing Context-Aware Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Internet of Things Technologies with applications in Product and Asset Lifecycle Management, Industrial Automation, Smart Cities, and Learning Technologies. His current teaching portfolio includes Information Management, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, and Engineering Services.
