Previously, he was an academic staff of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and a Research Assistant at Heriot-Watt University. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at Cranfield University. His research interests include UAV, UTM, ATM, NGN, network security, resource allocation, simulation, and modeling. He consulted for EarSwitch Ltd., DSTL, and European Space Agency (ESA) on ultrasound, radar, and small satellite deployment projects.

He has authored and co-authored several academic papers and proceedings. Chris is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). He is also an Associate Fellow of AdvanceHE (AFHEA) and a member of the review panel for the IEEE Wireless Communication Letters, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communication Letters, Elsevier's Cogent Engineering journals, etc.
