Background
Having started her career in research, Ceris joined the National Farmers Union (NFU) as its climate change adviser, covering mitigation, adaptation and GHG accounting policy. She represented the organisation on the agriculture industry Greenhouse Gas Action Plan, the UK Climate Assembly’s Advisory Panel and the Food Data Transparency Partnership. In 2024, she chaired the Climate Change Committee's Agriculture Advisory Group.
Through the NFU’s membership of the World Farmers Organisation (WFO), Ceris was also the facilitator of the WFO’s climate change working group and one of the co-focal points for the UNFCCC Farmers' constituency. She is continuing in her co-focal point role whilst at Cranfield.
Current activities
Ceris is a Research Fellow in Farm GHG Accounting working on a Land Use for Net Zero project, LUNZ-FOOTPRINT. This project, a GHG accounting Living Lab, brings together 100 farmers with researchers, policymakers, retailers, processors, advisers, and land agents to co-design a scalable auditable farm-level GHG accounting framework for the UK food system.
