Background

Dr. Burak Yuksek received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechatronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2013 and 2019, respectively. Between 2013-2020, he had worked as a research assistant in ITU Aerospace Research Center (ARC). Burak is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing at Cranfield University. He is a professional member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Current activities

Dr. Yuksek studies on autonomous aerial systems within the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing at Cranfield University. He focuses on mathematical modeling, guidance, navigation and control (GNC) system design for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aerial platforms. Current research theme includes adaptive control theory and reinforcement learning on flight control system design and motion planning in the context of urban air mobility and air defense applications.
