Background

Dr Gamil is a research fellow in Gas turbines performance in the Centre for Propulsion Engineering, School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing [SATM]. 

Dr Gamil obtained his PhD in Turbomachinery Aerodynamics from Cranfield University in 2017 then became a researcher in the Centre for Propulsion Engineering.

Prior to that, for more than three years, Dr Gamil was R&D engineer in Aeronautical research centre in Sudan working in the design and analysis of different turbomachinery components.

Current activities

Dr Gamil current research activities are:

• Numerical analysis of different industrial gas turbines components

• Design of axial compressors and turbines

• Analysis of Secondary air systems in the large industrial gas turbines

• Development of gas turbines performance tools

• Computational fluid dynamic analysis for gas turbine combustion systems
