Donglan received his BEng in Aeronautical Manufacturing Engineering at Tongji University. During his undergraduate studies, he did reseach on "Enhancing Mode I and mode II interlaminar fracture toughness of CFRP laminates with carbon nanotubes".
Donglan is now a full-time PhD student at Cranfield University under the supervision of Dr. Hamed Yazdani Nezhad and Dr. Vijay Kumar Thakur.
Donglan's current research focuses on self-tuning fibre-reinforced polymer adaptive nanocomposite (STRAINcomp) and in-situ monitoring.
