Contact Dimitris Panagopoulos

Background

Prior to joining Cranfield University, Dimitris obtained his 5-year Diploma (300 ECTS - integrated MEng) in Industrial Design and Production Engineering from the University of West Attica (UNIWA), Greece. Additionally, he gained valuable experience by working as an undergraduate intern and research assistant in the Extreme Robotics Laboratory (ERL) at the University of Birmingham.

Current activities

Currently, Dimitris Panagopoulos is pursuing his Ph.D. in the Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC) at Cranfield University, specialising in human-machine interaction and teaming. His research focuses on exploring and developing learning-based algorithms to improve search and rescue operations in both natural and man-made disaster environments. In this work, he is investigating novel methods that facilitate the integration of human stakeholders on the ground, thereby expediting the learning process.
