Background

Dan has a background as an ammunition and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialist with over 17 years practical experience in those fields. He holds a MSc in explosive ordnance engineering and is a Chartered Engineer through the Institute of Explosives Engineers.

Research opportunities

Dan's primary area of research is blast and blast wave interactions. His other research areas of interest include the effects of small-scale blast on personnel, confined-space explosions, and the use of explosives in the space industry.

Current activities

Dan continues to be active in the field of EOD and is also undertaking part-time doctoral research with Cranfield Security and Defence.
