Contact Daniel Chen

Background

Daniel Chen is an art historian and doctoral researcher in the School of Defence and Security at Cranfield University. He investigates Kakiemon porcelain through archaeological science, art history, and material culture approaches to explore its transcultural development. His research is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) with the support of the Macdonald Family Foundation. Concurrent projects include Netherlands Institute for Conservation+Art+Science+ (NICAS) funded research in partnership with the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and the Princessehof Museum, Leeuwarden. He was formerly adjunct curator of Asian ceramics at the Gardiner Museum, Toronto.
