Contact Conor Walthall

Background

Conor Walthall is an agricultural science PhD student with an interest in soil below ground processes and how they affect crop growth and greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture. Conor also has an interest in soil microbiomes as well as an interest in greenhouse gas emission production from agricultural practices.

Prior to beginning his PhD at Cranfield University, he completed his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Warwick University. He also completed his master's degree at Warwick University, focusing on the environmental sustainability of elite level football clubs in England.

Current activities

Currently Conor is completing a PhD with his supervisors Dr Nick Girkin, Dr Zoltan Kevei and Dr Alice Johnston, focusing on mitigating greenhouse gas emissions within linseed crops, as well as looking at how to optimise the growth of linseed with an emphasis on optimising the usage of nitrogen fertilizers.
