Background

Chana Saias is a Research Fellow in Rotorcraft Performance and Environmental Assessments in the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering at Cranfield University. She is active in the areas of rotorcraft modelling and simulation, flight dynamics, multidisciplinary design optimisation, gas turbine performance, electrified propulsion and alternative fuels. Chana holds a 5-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering. She was awarded a full scholarship for the MSc in Thermal Power and Gas Turbine Technology at Cranfield University (UK) in 2018. She joined Cranfield as a Doctoral Researcher (Full scholarship) in 2019 within the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Aero Systems Design, Integration and Performance. Her doctoral research focused on the design and optimisation of novel propulsion systems for Urban Air Mobility architectures. 



Current activities

Chana is currently active in the EU-funded project FASTRIP2050 focusing on performance, environmental impact, and impact assessments of future rotorcraft concepts. She is also contributing to other industrially funded projects.
