Areas of expertise
- Carbon Capture and Storage
Background
Aylin obtained her bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Ege University in Turkey. She obtained her MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Distinction from Cranfield University in 2020, where she worked on process simulation and modelling of bioenergy generation and CO2 capture system.
Current activities
Aylin Kemal is carrying out her Doctoral Research within the Energy Department at Cranfield University. She is working to develop a potential approach to remove carbon dioxide from ambient air. The approach involves using lime (CaO) in various applications, which results in carbon dioxide being permanently removed from the atmosphere. The study also is focused on determining the cost and scalability of using lime to remove carbon dioxide.
