As we implement renewable energy for power generation and energy storage around the world, highly skilled scientists, engineers, and managers in the renewable energy sector are in great demand. Read more Read less
In recognition of this need, Cranfield University’s Centre for Renewable Energy Systems has established the Chris Sansom Professor’s Scholarship. These full or part-fee scholarships are available to truly exceptional candidates only, and have been designed to equip them for their journey towards making a significant contribution to the implementation of renewable energy.
Supported by industry, these students will work closely with our industrial partners on real-world problems and provide solutions to help meet the UK and global targets related to net-zero carbon and GHG reduction. Wherever possible, an industrial mentor will closely shadow them throughout their studies, offering guidance and advice. As a team, industrial sponsors working with the Cranfield academic staff, we’ll give them the skills and knowledge they will need, and keep them clearly focussed on the goals of driving the renewable energy agenda. In return we expect they will work hard, study hard, get great results and turn theory into practice through excellent quality, impactful group project work and individual research. We will expect nothing short of excellence; we’ll select for it and drive it hard during the program.
This scheme is only open to the best and brightest. It is likely that they will hold a first class degree in a relevant technical topic, and have the ambition and drive to make the most of their time at Cranfield. We expect they will have a career plan that targets the top, and have goals they can discuss with us that demonstrate their commitment to being the best, and to becoming a leader in their field of work or research. Applications are open to all high calibre students accepted to study on the MSc in Renewable Energy in 2021/2022 on a full-time basis.
