The scholarship programme, valued at GBP 1 million, will fund full tuition for 70 Indian women to study a Master’s programme in STEM for the academic year 2019-20, enabling young women to access some of the world’s best universities in UK.

 British Council’s investment in women scholars supports Indian Prime Minister Modi’s shift to women-led development and also supports its objectives as below

  • Women who are likely to become leaders in their fields over the next twenty years

What it covers

Scholarships are for full tuition fees. Living and other related expenses will be borne by the candidate.

Who can apply

Scholarships are for Indian women wishing to study in a full-time Masters course in the areas of Aerospace, Transport Systems, Manufacturing, Energy and Power, Environmental Technologies and Water.



How to apply

Applicants wishing to be considered for this Scholarship should be applying to a full-time Masters degree in an eligible course.

Please indicate in your online application for admission (funding section) that you wish to be considered for nomination for the 70th Anniversary Scholarship. Please include a short statement describing your academic achievements, reasons for choosing to study at Cranfield and confirmation that you have the funding to cover your living costs during your study.

If you have already applied for admission to Cranfield please send an email to the admissions team at study@cranfield.ac.uk indicating that you wish to be considered and including your short statement. Please include your Cranfield student ID number and your course name in your email.
