Your timetable

09:30-10:00 – Registration

Our welcome desk team will get you registered and you can enjoy tea and coffee in the Vincent Building atrium.



10:00-10:30 – Welcome to Cranfield

Professor Sean Tyrrel, our Pro-Vice Chancellor – Education and Becca Smythe, Education Services will give you a warm welcome to Cranfield. You will also meet James Wainwright, a current PhD student who will tell you more about what it's like to be a student at Cranfield.



10:30-11:25 – Introduction to the Cranfield Forensic Institute

One of our Forensic Programme Directors, Hannah Moore, will introduce you to the Cranfield Forensic Institute, and the suite of courses available.



11:30-13:00 – A look behind the scenes

This is your opportunity to explore the recent investment of £7.2 million into the latest forensic equipment and teaching spaces at the Cranfield campus. You will have access to new facilities such as a virtual reality autopsy table and crime scene investigation rooms and hear from our academics.



13:00-13:45 – Networking lunch

You’ll be able to ask your programme-specific questions during this networking session with academics and current students, while enjoying a delicious lunch.



13:45-15:00 – Explore campus

Visit some of our on-site accommodation, the library and other student facilities to get a feel for life on campus. Guides and student ambassadors will be available throughout to answer your questions.

You will also meet representatives from our student service and experience teams, including Accommodation, Careers and Employability Service and Student Wellbeing and Disability Support Team.


Travel and arrival information

Your Open Day will be held at the Vincent Building (grid D4 on the campus map). Visit our how to find us page to plan your journey.

Parking is available at the AIRC car park (grid D5 on the campus map) and you do not need a permit for this event. There will be signs for parking and signs to the Vincent Building too.

Using public transport

Be aware that rail strikes have been announced for Wednesday 31 May, please check your journey before you travel.

Cranfield coaches will be running to and from Bedford train station and Milton Keynes Central train station, also stopping at Milton Keynes Coachway.

  • 09:00 – departure from Bedford train station to Cranfield (situated in front of the station, Expresslines Coaches)
  • 09:00 – departure from Milton Keynes Central train station to Cranfield (situated in bay Z1, Expresslines Coaches) – stopping at Milton Keynes Coachway
  • 15:15 – return departure from Cranfield to Bedford train station
  • 15:15 – return departure from Cranfield to Milton Keynes Central train station – stopping at Milton Keynes Coachway
