There are many issues that need to be addressed, such as: ageing infrastructure; compliance with ever stringent regulation; fast growth of urban centres and need to develop sustainable solutions for rural communities; energy and carbon prices; reduction of quality of water sources; variable weather patterns leading to severe draughts and floods; the need to engage with local communities and governments promoting circular economy; etc. are forcing water professionals to think creatively and move innovation to full-scale implementation at an unprecedented rate. The key to the success of the LET conference series, and very strong reputation, is the excellent scientific programme that has a perfect blend of academic research and implementation of novel technologies. The LET2019 will attract key water professionals and stakeholders from the UK and around the world to delivery an inspiring programme and a memorable conference.
Cranfield University, the lead LET2019 organiser, has partnered with two key water utilities in the UK. Scottish Water is the publicly owned utility providing water and wastewater services to 2.5 million households and 156,000 businesses and Thames Water, the UK’s largest water and wastewater services provider.
