There is an inconsistent approach to quantification, communication and evidence based decision making for risk assessment across all sectors. Therefore, this symposium will bring together those interested and responsible for making risk based decisions to create a multi-disciplinary knowledge sharing network. We invite submissions for presentation and poster abstracts that will demonstrate risk assessment approaches that have achieved successful outcomes. Submissions could consider the role of stakeholder communication, promotion of positive culture, qualitative and quantitative assessment, base-lining risk, continual improvement, likelihood and severity, interpretation of outcomes and modelling to make effective decision making for risk assessment.
The inaugural international symposium will be held over two days in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. The symposium offers keynote speakers, several technical sessions, a poster session, interactive forum and an expert panel session. In addition there will be exhibitors from funding and partnering organisations and diverse networking opportunities.
A symposium dinner will be held at the end of day one on Monday 2 December to provide further informal networking opportunities.
Selected contributors will be invited to prepare a chapter for a post-symposium peer reviewed book that will support practical risk assessment solutions.

This symposium will take place at the Sudbury House Hotel, 56 London Street, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, SN7 7AA which is situated between Oxford and Swindon.
Road: midway between Oxford and Swindon, follow signs off the A420 for Sudbury House, the hotel is on the left after 1/2 mile. There is free parking at the hotel.
