Frequently asked questions
What is a Campus Tour?
A Campus Tour is a great way to get a taster of what Cranfield University is all about and to explore our countryside campus.
To find out more about facilities, directly related to your taught or research course of interest, we recommend you register for one of our upcoming Open Days. During our Open Day, you have the opportunity to meet with our academics, hear from students, talk to student support teams and explore facilities.
Can I bring a guest(s)?
Of course, you are very welcome to bring guests with you. To help us to plan the day, please use the space on the registration form to indicate how many you will be bringing. We would recommend a maximum of two guests.
Can I bring my children to the Campus Tour?
We understand and are very proud of our diverse student community and know that for some of our visitors, bringing family members is key to support with your decision making. Unfortunately the Campus Tour is not an event appropriate for children. We would instead encourage you to register for an upcoming Open Day.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code - please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Our tours involve walking around campus, so wear comfortable shoes.
Can you support my access requirements?
Please let us know in advance if you have any access requirements and we will be in touch to discuss this further with you.
Is there parking available on the day?
Yes, we have a large car park on campus, which is free to park in and parking permits are not required. For this event, we request that you park in the South Car Park (What3words – ///stars.streaking.curious).
Are there electric vehicle charging points on campus?
Yes, we have three locations with charging points but we would recommend using the points outside the Student Accommodation Office, Stafford Cripps - Building 41 (taps.reshape.prancing). These are managed by BP Pulse, not the University. To use the rapid chargers you need be signed up to BP Pulse - for more information and to sign up, please go to their website.
Will I be able to view accommodation options on the day?
Yes, you will have the opportunity* to visit one type of accommodation on campus.
For more information, please see Accommodation at Cranfield and take a look at our amazing Virtual Experience to view other options available.
If you are a part-time student, we have dedicated accommodation onsite at our two on-site hotels, the Cranfield Management and Development Centre and Mitchell Hall. This is not included on the Campus Tour, it can be viewed as part of the tour delivered at Open Day.
*Please note for the September 2025 tour the accommodation tour is not guaranteed, due to the Accommodation team making preparations for our incoming students. We will notify you via email if the accommodation tour is not going ahead.
