Andy Hunter’s term as the School of Management Alumni President will come to an end on 31 May 2023.

Andy-hunter-promoCranfield School of Management wholeheartedly thanks Andy Hunter (MBA 1987) for the endless hours and relentless energy he has contributed to the role over the past four years. Andy has given significant time to the School and the alumni community and his efforts have made a real difference, both to fellow alumni as well as to our current students. His work has helped ensure that alumni remain at the heart of the School - connecting alumni to the School, the School to alumni, and alumni to alumni. With the support of the Vice-Presidents, Andy has helped to grow and energise the School's Year Rep network and provided important input into the rankings strategy, helping the School secure its place in the Financial Times Global top 100 for both the Full-time MBA and Executive MBA programmes this year.

Thanks to his hard work in creating an active and engaged group of over 60 Year Representatives working closely with the School and the Alumni team to help build relationships with their year groups and the broader alumni community, the Alumni President role will be re-shaped going forwards to put the Year Rep network at the heart of our activity.

We are replacing the notion of ‘President’ and the structure of ‘Vice-Presidents’ with a position called the ‘Dean’s Alumni Chair’. This role will serve as the conduit between David Oglethorpe, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Cranfield School of Management, the School, the Alumni team, and the Year Representatives. The Dean’s Alumni Chair will also represent alumni viewpoints on the School’s Advisory Board, as Andy has done for the last four years.

We’re delighted that Executive MBA 2016 Year Representative and existing SOM Alumni Vice President, Cat Halstead, has agreed to serve in this new role for an initial three-year period. The responsibilities previously covered by the Alumni Vice Presidents will be shared among our growing number of active and supportive Year Representatives.

Finally, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank our current and former Vice-Presidents, Julia Barton (MBA 2014), Vincent Choi (MBA 2011) and Angela Stimamiglio (MSc Strategic Marketing 2018) for the important role that they have played in recent years in bringing our alumni community closer to the School, and for their continued support and advocacy for Cranfield.
