Here is your quarterly summary of some of the successes of Cranfield alumni:
- Adeyeye Joseph (Developing General Management Potential 2001) has been appointed as Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief at Punch Nigeria Limited. Joseph’s appointment will take effect from 1 May 2022.
- Michelle Morris (MSc Marketing & Product Management 1987) appointed Public Services Ombudsman for Wales on 1 April 2022, Ms Morris was previously Managing Director of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
- David Kusuma (PhD Cranfield Health 2009) is president of the World Design Organization (WDO), for the term 2022-2023. He is also Senior Vice President of Oregon Tool Inc, a leading global company that designs and develops products for forestry, lawn and garden, agriculture and construction.
- Diana Enid (MSc Clinical Research 2007) will be a guest speaker for the webinar: Centralized Data Flow and Connected Workflow Intelligence to Enable Data Science in Clinical Trials: A day in the life of an IQVIA Data Manager on Tuesday 26 April.
- Carrie Cushing (MSc International Human Resource Management 2013) has been appointed as chief people officer to lead talent strategy and culture development across the business, EXA.
- Richard Bertrand (MSc Automotive Product Engineering 2004) appointed General Product Manager at the car rental company, Virtuo
- Bahirji Ghorpade (Presessional English for Academic Purposes 2017, MSc in Finance and Management 2018) featured in CEO magazine discussing his career journey and being the Managing Director of The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited (SMIORE).
- Ian M. Reason (MSc Guided Weapon Systems 1992) appointed Senior Vice President, Barnes and President, Barnes Aerospace, effective Monday 2 May 2022.
- Mark Susca (MSc Safety and Accident Investigation 2014, Short Courses for Credit in Forensic Programme 2014, SCO Modules 2019) is the Senior Risk Consultant at Pool Re, and former Head of Resilience at Manchester Airport, on current challenges, vulnerability in the aviation sector, and fundamental risk management principles.
- Ben Enejo (MSc Molecular Medicine 2006, MBA 2010) has been promoted to partner in its healthcare and life sciences practice at management consulting firm Arthur D. Little (ADL).
- Brian Henderson (MBA 1996) is a guest speaker for the webinar ‘Leading People Through Change’ on Tuesday 10 May sharing advice, best practices, and practical tips to overcome challenges to transform their employee experience.
- Dmitrii Buravlev (MSc Procurement and Supply Chain Management 2020) is a Supply Chain Manager at MetsaWood UK, worked with his wife and volunteers during lockdown to recreate and repair the Boston town signs.
- Dr. Monika Sonu (MSc Health Operations 2012), CEO Health Innovation Toolbox named as one of the global Twitter influencers to follow for 2022.
- Joao Souza (PhD in the School of Applied Sciences 1998) appointed as an alternate member of the Fiscal Council the company 3R PETROLEUM.
- Paul Akehurst (MSc Energy Conservation and the Environment 1985) appointed Head of Sustainability at Global law firm Hogan Lovells.
- James Johnsen (MBA 1991), Church House Investment Management joined Katie Gilfillan for an interview reflecting on the route into industry, and his long-term approach to investment.
- Anthony Dutton (MBA 1991) has been appointed as Director of the company BioVaxys Technology Corp.
- Jose Munoz (Executive Development Short Course), Head of Hyundai Motor America’s North America subsidiary appointed as general manager of global business.
- Andrew Mcleod (PhD 2013) a bioresources process engineer at Jacobs and Rising Star Award finalist, reflects on five years in utilities after ‘pivoting’ from academia.
- Nathan Knight (Business Directors Short Course) appointed as ANZ vice president and managing director at Hitachi Vantara.
- Rajendra Theagarajah (MBA 1984) appointed chairman of Orient Finance PLC.
- Soneet Kapila (MBA 1978) named ABI President-Elect.
- David Park (MSc Aircraft Design 1975) Astral Aviation consultant spoke at a Royal Society event in Wānaka on Friday 13 May, describing the design of the NASA balloon and some of its science payloads.
- Louise Wagstaffe (Ready for Scale Programme) chef director at the culinary consultancy, Delicious By Design. She discusses her career to date, culminating in her current role, supporting all sides of the food industry.
- Adesola Adeduntan (MBA 2005) Managing Director of First Bank Nigeria Plc. was last month honoured with the lifetime achievement award, by the African Leadership Organisation.
- Nuno Taborda (Ph.D. at Shrivenham 2003) was appointed as magniX Chief Executive Officer.
- Vera Bruntink (MSc Management and Corporate Sustainability 2021) appointed Sustainability Manager at Oakland International.
- Andrew Clark (MBA 1991) was appointed to the Infratil Board of Directors.
- Cayetana Galaz (MSc Clinical Research Management 2011) appointed regional director at Glovo.
- Cristian Maffi (MSc Motorsport Engineering & Management 2011) founder of Maffi Racing, explains their 2022 plan for the Italian Formula 4 championship this year.
- Lesley Kipling (MSc Forensic Computing 2012), Chief Security Advisor at Microsoft listed in Top 10: Must-see speakers at Tech Live London 2022 event 23 – 24 June.
- Cristiano Pinto da Costa (MBA 2001) current executive vice president of Shell assumes the position of president of the company in August.
- Hugo Spowers (MBA 1999) awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
- Professor Abubakar Kundiri (PhD Silsoe 1995) was appointed Vice-Chancellor at the newly established private university in Borno, Al-Ansar University.
- Rosida Ismail (MSc Air Transport Management 2012), Air Transport Officer (Economic Policy) at the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She shares what brought her to Cranfield, her study experience and details of her exciting career so far.
- David Walsh (MSc Air Transport 1996), Business Development Executive at Hybrid Air Vehicles. The company announced an aircraft reservation agreement with one of the largest regional airlines in Europe, Air Nostrum Group, for HAV’s pioneering hybrid aircraft - Airlander 10.
- Miguel Ángel Falcón (MSc Air Transport 1994) Managing Director of Air Nostrum announced they are part of an aircraft reservation agreement with Hybrid Air Vehicles, for HAV’s pioneering hybrid aircraft - Airlander 10.
- Emma Coen (MSc Explosives Ordnance Engineering 2011) shares her career journey to date to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day.
- Adesola Adeduntan (MBA 2005, Honorary Graduand 2022) was congratulated by President Muhammadu Buhari for his honorary graduand recognition.
- Andy Sales (MSc Welding Engineering 2015), AML3D founder and Managing Director discusses how 3D-printed metals are transforming the manufacturing industry.
- Ahmed Aly (MSc Air Transport Management 2007) appointed CEO at TUS Airways.
- Andrei Dănescu (MSc Motorsport Engineering and Management 2012) has obtained a risk capital financing of 13 million dollars from investment funds for his start-up business BotsAndUs, making robots for warehouses and logistics.
- Lolade Abiola (MSc Air Transport Management 2006) has been appointed Executive Director of Training for Caverton Helicopters.
