We are delighted to announce that Cat Halstead (Executive MBA 2016) and Angela Stimamiglio (MSc Marketing 2018) are to become Cranfield School of Management Alumni Vice Presidents.

Cat is an active member of the alumni community. Her year group was a particularly strong and closely connected cohort and she is still in contact with many of her peers through the business book club, which she set up both as a vehicle to maintain their connection but also to keep their business knowledge current. She applied for the role of Alumni Vice President largely due to the passion she feels for Cranfield, and as an opportunity to give back.

When speaking about her connection to Cranfield, Cat said: “I believe the Alumni network has masses of untapped value both for individuals seeking to develop their careers, business knowledge and contacts, and for Cranfield to strengthen its business connections in order to ensure the courses remain relevant to demand and current. Working closely together we can ensure it’s a win-win both for Cranfield and Alumni.”

Angela currently works for Nike where she is Digital Platforms Operations Specialist. She believes that higher education is key for developing future leaders and has supported prospective students who have been keen to find out about her Cranfield experience and wanted advice on their future career. She applied for the role of Alumni Vice President as she wanted to serve the alumni network as well as helping prospective students.

Angela said: “I applied to the Alumni Vice President position because I always felt a strong connection with Cranfield University and I wanted to be involved in the alumni community. During my time as a School of Management Alumni Vice President, I aim to create a network that supports our careers, build an engaging community, and connect one another to support our growth.”

Cat and Angela are taking over from Jules Barton (MBA 2014) who is stepping down as she has taken on the role of Head of Partnerships, Accreditation and Rankings at Cranfield School of Management.

Andy Hunter (MBA 1987), School of Management Alumni President said: “We had a fantastic response to, and excellent applicants for the Vice President position, and making a choice was almost impossible but we had to do it. Cat and Angela presented themselves amazingly and really demonstrated that they ‘get it’, as well as having shown commitment to alumni relations through their work with their groups since graduating.

“We decided to grow the team and appoint two Vice Presidents. The appointment of Cat with an EMBA background and Angela with an MSc background demonstrates strongly the School’s commitment to engage with alumni across all courses and year groups, and to continue building alumni relations into the fabric of the School. While Cat will work closely with EMBA alumni, and Angela with MSc alumni, it is important that alumni know they can contact myself or any Vice President.”

Andy and Vincent Choi (MBA 2011), School of Management Alumni Vice President, said: “We are greatly disappointed to ‘lose’ Jules Barton as part of our team, but in her new role fully understand the value that Jules will add to the School of Management. If it’s anything like as good as the work Jules has done for alumni in her time as Vice President, that value will be massive. A huge thanks, Jules.”
