Cranfield's Senior team includes Officers of the University and a Senior Management team. The Officers of Cranfield are responsible for the governance of the University through Council and Senate. They work alongside the University Executive and Senior Management team who deal with the day-to-day running of the University.

Baroness Young of Old Scone

Chancellor - Baroness Young of Old Scone
The Chancellor presides over graduation ceremonies and is
empowered to confer the University's degrees and other
distinctions, both on successful students and on people
nominated for honorary degrees.

Ian Ferguson

Pro-Chancellor - Iain Ferguson CBE
The Pro-Chancellor is chair of the University's Council, which is
the executive governing body of the University. As such, the
Pro-Chancellor plays a leading role in the governance of the
University.

Sir Peter Gregson

Vice-Chancellor - Professor Sir Peter Gregson
The Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor is responsible to 
Council for all the University's activities.

HRH the Royal Visitor

University Visitor – HRH The Duke of Kent
The University Visitor is appointed by Her Majesty The Queen, 
and visits the University to inspect our laboratories, facilities 
and enquire into the teaching, research, examinations and our 
work at Cranfield.



Senior Management team (SMT)

The Senior Management team contributes to the strategic development of Cranfield. It is made up of the Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor as chair, and the University and professional services executive teams.
