Competitive Creative Centre for Design student, Thomas Wastling, has been awarded a place on the prestigious Schmidt MacArthur Fellowship. The is the only circular economy fellowship of its type in the world.
"I’m thrilled be to given this opportunity to gain an even deeper understanding about the circular economy" said Thomas. "The potential of learning from some of the leading thinkers in the area, as well as contributing with on my own circular innovation project is an extremely exciting prospect!"
Thomas studies the Innovation and Creativity for Industry MDes. To be considered for the Fellowship Thomas had to submit a 90 second audio visual presentation that addressed two questions on the circular economy.
Thomas and his mentor Dr Mariale Moreno will participate in a week long summer school in London, an online learning programme, have the opportunity to develop their own Circular Economy Innovation Project and receive a cash bursary.
