Cranfield University will play host to one of the UK’s largest online graduation events so far, today and tomorrow, when nearly 2,000 graduates from over 100 countries across the world are invited to join the virtual celebrations.

Due to COVID-19, the University is hosting this online event with its traditional ceremony being postponed until next year, when the graduates will be invited back to campus in the University’s 75th anniversary year.

Professor Sir Peter Gregson, Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, said: “Just as we have been able to conduct teaching and research online, I’m delighted that we are able to host this virtual celebration for our graduates. Wherever they might be in the world, they are part of the Cranfield community. It is only right and fitting that we mark their tremendous achievement, as they set forth on their journey to be the next leaders in technology and management.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming those that have attended this year’s event virtually back to Cranfield next year for what promises to be an extra special occasion.”

Earlier this week, Captain Tom Moore was awarded an Honorary Degree by Cranfield in its first ever virtual degree ceremony.

Cranfield is working with StageClip to create individual memories for each graduate of this occasion.
