Prof David Grayson CBE joined Cranfield University as the Director of the new Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility in April 2007, after a thirty year career as a social entrepreneur and campaigner for responsible business, diversity, and small business development. He has chaired or served on the board of a number of public bodies and charities. David retired in December 2017 from the full time role as Director of the Doughty Centre at Cranfield, but continues to support and contribute to Cranfield University School of Management as Emeritus Professor for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. David currently chairs the national charity Carers UK which works to end carer isolation. Guardian Sustainable Business identified him as one of ten top global tweeters on sustainability leadership. Sharon has had a 15-year career within global commerce in the electronic component sector, operating in both distribution and manufacturing. Sharon has held senior executive roles across SMEs and global TNCs. A diverse and varied set of business skills include international business development, implementation of global trading agreements.

Melody McLaren is Co-founding Director of McLaren UK, a creative business services consultancy, and is an Associate of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management. A graduate of the California Institute of Technology (BS, 1977) and Birkbeck College, University of London (MSc, Organizational Behaviour 2007), her eclectic career encompasses over 30 years of experience spanning a wide range of fields including research, writing, media relations, sales promotion, web development, social media and corporate responsibility campaigning in the US and Europe. She is co-author with Prof. David Grayson of Social Intrapreneurism and All That Jazz: How Business Innovators Are Helping To Build a More Sustainable World.
Charlotte Turner has worked in research and communication on behalf of the private (including most of the FTSE350), public (most central Government departments) and charity sectors for nearly twenty years, most of that time she was a Director at both Ipsos MORI and Business in the Community.
Charlotte is a regular speaker and presenter of issue-based research, an Associate of Market Research Society, an Associate of the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management, an Assessor of Business in the Community’s Awards for Excellence and a Fellow of the RSA.
Patrick has extensive experience of working with boards in Europe, Asia and North America. His executive experience includes 26 years in a variety of roles with 3i Group plc where, until 2012, he was Communications Director, a member of its Operating committee and Chairman of its Operational Risk forum. 3i has £7bn of Assets under management. He is also a member of the advisory board of The Entrepreneurs Fund a Euros 200m venture fund.
While he resists being labelled, John is a writer, thought-leader and business strategist, a serial entrepreneur and, at heart, an environmentalist.

John is the author or co-author of 19 books, and has written chapters or forewords for many others. His most recent book is The Breakthrough Challenge: 10 Ways to Connect Today’s Profits with Tomorrow’s Bottom Line, co-authored with Jochen Zeitz—former Chairman & CEO of PUMA and now co-founder of The B Team alongside Sir Richard Branson. John’s previous books include: 1988’s million-selling Green Consumer Guide; 1997’s Cannibals with Forks: The Triple Bottom Line of 21st Century Business (the book which brought his triple bottom line concept and agenda to a wider audience); and 2008’s The Power of Unreasonable People: How Social Entrepreneurs Create Markets That Change the World, (Harvard Business School Press), co-authored with Volans co-founder Pamela Hartigan.
He co-chairs the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Breakthrough Innovation Advisory Council, chairs the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Technology Consortium, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Commission on Business & Sustainable Development (GCBSD).
Lance Moir has over 30 years senior business experience in financial and strategy roles. He has been CFO of WIN plc and Executive Director of IMImobile, Group Finance Director and Director of Planning and Business Development for First Choice Holidays plc, Director of Corporate Finance for Bass plc and Head of Corporate Finance and Planning for Storehouse plc. He is currently a non-executive director of Henderson Global Trust plc, Chairman of Thompson Dunn and Treasurer of the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora.
He has a PhD from Cranfield School of Management and has published in a number of academic journals including The Journal of Business Ethics; Corporate Governance –The International Journal of Business and Society, Accounting and Business Research. He is the author of Managing Liquidity and a number of book chapters. He is a fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, where he was a member of council and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Anita Hoffmann has over 30 years senior executive experience in industry and professional services. At the end of 2010 she left her role as Partner and Global Practice leader at Heidrick & Struggles to pursue a portfolio career as a coach and board-advisor. In her executive career Anita has held senior international executive roles in industry (Exxon chemical, Dow Corning and ABB), in Big 4 consulting firms (Accenture and Deloitte Consulting) and at the premier Leadership Advisory & Search firm Heidrick & Struggles. Anita has experience working internationally across the resources industry, chemicals, Oil & Gas, Mining, Utilities, Renewable energy, Clean Tech and Energy Investing. her experience includes international marketing strategy, business unit management, practice and business development, leadership development, succession planning, C-suite executive recruitment and coaching. She also has deep knowledge in the energy, infrastructure, renewable energy, sustainability and climate change areas. Anita is currently MD and Founder of Executiva - Executiva helps companies recruit, assess, develop and promote executives with the ability to be successful leaders in an increasingly socially accountable world. In a 2016 global study by Executiva in co-operation with Cranfield University - Purpose Driven Leader - Purpose Driven Career - shows how to do this by helping companies and executives develop leadership AND career development capabilities.
David Logan is the co-founder of The Corporate Citizenship Company, a specialist corporate responsibility consultancy based in London. David has over 25 year’s frontline experience in managing corporate responsibility issues for international companies.
Edward Bickham recently left FTSE top 20 Anglo American plc, where as External Relations Director he led groundbreaking work with governments and NGOs on international sustainable development projects. Previous to this he ran a consultancy business and was a senior advisor in three UK government departments.
Gib is the Founder and Executive Director of Accenture Development Partnerships (ADP), a ring-fenced not-for-profit consulting group within Accenture, whose clients include many of the major international NGOs and development agencies. ADP's main focus is bringing affordable business and technology expertise to the international development sector and promoting private sector engagement in sustainable development. In 2007, ADP was awarded the Management Consulting Association (MCA)’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award and in 2008, Gib was named as the Sunday Times sponsored Management Consultant of the Year in the Best Partner/Director category. Gib has lived and worked extensively in developing countries and is a regular speaker on the role of business in development, corporate social entrepreneurship and cross-sectoral partnerships.
Kenneth Amaeshi worked at the Centre between January 2008 and July 2010, when he left to take a promotion at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to working at the Centre he had been a Research Fellow at Warwick Business School for three years and has ten years experience in corporate responsibility research, discourse and practice. He is also is a Visiting Scholar at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
Heiko worked at the Centre between 2008 and July 2010, when he left to move to Brazil, a professor at Fundacao Dom Cabral. In 2008 Heiko Spitzeck obtained his PhD in Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. During 2006-2007 he held visiting scholar positions at the University of California at Berkley and Fordham University in New York.
Mandy Cormack is an Advisor / Practitioner in international CSR practice and a Non-Executive Trust Director. She guides companies and organizations on the practical dimensions of corporate responsibility and sustainability as an integral part of their operations. Assignments have included: International CR Advisor, at TNT NV; Interim Director CSR, at Laing O’Rourke PLC and CSR Strategy Consultant to Imperial College, London and the Greater London Authority. Formerly, Vice President Corporate Responsibility / Head of Corporate Relations, London for Unilever, Mandy was the senior management team member responsible for developing the company’s approach to CSR, including groundbreaking work with the not-for-profit sector. She initiated the development of programmes that integrated the company’s CSR commitment into all aspects of operations from supply chain management, to corporate brand positioning, and leadership communications. Mandy is a Non-Executive Director of the grant-making Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust. She has sponsored projects exploring corporate responsibility in the news media, in particular working with the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University, and is currently engaged in efforts to reform political party funding, contributing to the enquiry led by the Committee on Standards in Public Life. Experienced in working at Board level, both in the corporate and not-for profit sectors, Mandy’s interests lie in bridging the gap between them. She brings to her roles a keen grasp of strategic priorities and commitment to achieving team buy-in to delivering positive results for both business and society. Mandy has recently written a Doughty Centre How-to Guide, How to identify a Company's Major Impacts - and Manage Them.
Building on more than 30 years experience in business, Ron focuses on helping companies integrate sustainability into their business strategy. He is a Visiting Professor at Rotterdam Business School where he has co-written a case study on a cradle-to-cradle-certified business and is leading the development of a CSR research programme and a Visiting Professor at Vietnam's Academy of Finance. His career has been divided between business strategy consulting in the US, Asia and Australasia and stints as chief executive of two different consumer-facing companies. He is experienced in collaborating with others bringing companies together to focus on common social issues and in government liaison (both as an executive and an industry representative ) in Australia and in Thailand where he founded a Chamber of Commerce.
Sara completed her doctorate on firm-charity partnerships at Cranfield in 2010 and has been working with the Centre on publishing some of their research. She has a background in communication, having eight years experience as a broadcast journalist and television producer prior to joining KPMG as a media industry consultant in 1998, where she project managed a wide range of strategic, financial and process engagements for private and public sector media clients. Sara’s research has given her a rich understanding of the current academic trends in corporate responsibility, particularly with regard to community engagement and cross-sector partnering.
