This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who would like to complete an MSc by Research in any topic that fits within the broad remit of environmental science or agrifood for which the expert supervisor/s within the theme are recognised. 
 
This is a 12 month, 100% research programme where you will achieve your MSc degree by developing a desk/laboratory/field based novel research project.
 
The Theme’s current research strengths and specialisms are arranged in research groups: 
 
Bioinformatics where we also offer a Masters level Research Apprenticeship: “Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Research L7 Apprenticeship” 

How You Study:
Postgraduate research programmes involve independent study and research. You will benefit from personal academic development throughout the process with support from supervisors wider research activities. There are no examinations on this programme, the final outcome will be a research thesis.
 
Supervision:
Students will meet regularly with supervisors and will be provided with guidance around the nature of research, the standards expected and support in developing into a competent researcher. 
 
Wider Research Activities:
 
Students are encouraged to attend research seminars from faculty and visiting academics and engage in a wide range of research and skills training opportunities (e.g. offered by the library) to support their studies. There is also an Early Career Researcher Network that provides a supportive community and forum for sharing research.

Supervisor

These will be aligned specifically to your proposed research topic and specialisms of the relevant academic staff member.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a degree within any S.T.E.A.M field (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) or an equivalent international qualification or closely aligned discipline. Ideally, applicants should have suitable organisational experience. 
 
All cases will be reviewed on a 1-2-1 basis and online interviews (via Teams or Skype) will be expected.
