Stringfellow Hall was opened in 2008 and was short listed for The Royal Institute of British Architects East of England Awards for its innovative and environmentally-friendly design. It is based on the Cranfield campus and conveniently situated close to lecture rooms and all the campus amenities.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Stringfellow Hall has 196 bedrooms, all with en suite (private) bathroom facilities. Rooms are spacious and light, with a minimum size of 17.5m2. There are Internet data points and a telephone in every room. 

Facilities and furniture in study bedrooms include: a mirror, wardrobe, drawers, bed, bedside cabinet, desk, chair, notice board and wastepaper bin.

There is a no smoking policy in all bedrooms and residential communal areas.

Catering

Stringfellow Hall is a self-catered hall of residence with each kitchen/dining area being shared between five resident students. Kitchens are fully fitted with adequate cupboard space for each resident and incorporating dinner plate, side plate, bowl, mug, glass and eating utensils. Each kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner for shared use. Cooking utensils, saucepans, casserole dishes, colanders, chopping boards and knives are also provided. There is a table and chairs for dining. 

For those who would like a break from cooking, you’ll find there are numerous options for eating on campus including restaurants, bars and cafés.

Cleaning

You will be responsible for cleaning your own room and for keeping communal areas tidy. Cleaning of communal areas is carried out by housekeeping staff.

Heating and electricity

Heating (normally on from October to April) and electricity are included in the accommodation fee

Other facilities

The building has a lift to all floors. There is a launderette on site.

These rates are for 2013-14 and all rates are subject to change for 2014-2015. Prices will usually increase for current, and new students, at the start of each new academic session.
